Ugliness

Date taken: Saturday 9th march 2013

I really like this photo because of the way the spiders look like they’re crawling towards you, and what makes it even more ugly is that the spiders are on the ceiling of the shed. This photograph works well because of the colour of the shed and cobweb in the shed and how dark and evil the spiders look, also because you can see the texture of the web in the photo.

I learnt from this experiment that spiders really are an ugly creature, and that if I had the chance to re take this photograph I would use a better lens so that I could zoom in on one of the spiders and show it in detail.

Something you hate

I like this photo because of the angle I have taken it at and that the seeds are still in the image of the tomato. I also like the redness of the tomato in the photo and how well it contrasts against the cream of the table in the background. This image works well because I don’t like the texture, smell, or taste of a tomato so therefore have chosen it as my image. If I had to re-take this photo then i would have added an extra light to highlight one part of the tomato to give it more effect.

Something I Love

I really like this photo because it shows my personality well. I also like the contrast of the different colours in my make-up box and how the different shapes work well together. The lighting in this photo works well too becuase its highlighting the main objects in the box. I learnt from this experiment that there are many different views and angles i could take this picture at, but if i had to re-take this photo i would probably add some more lights to give some shaddows around the objects.

Texture

I like the motion and the way that the texture has been captured in this photo also how it has the depth of field behind it which makes the water in the foreground stand out more. I think it works well because you can see each individual water droplet in the shot.
I learnt from this experiment that if i had moved around my subject more then i could have come out with a better photo. If i had to re-take this photo then i would experiment a little more with lighting and angle shots.

I really like this photo because you can see the lizard very clearly and the texture of the netting between me and the lizard, also i like angle that i have taken this photo at because it shows his whole body and because you can see the shaddow towards the back of his tail so it shows which direction the sun was shining. This image works well because it is a close up shot of an animal which are very shy and fast. The yellow/brown colour of the lizard contrasts really well against the blueness of the sky in the background, and the black of the netting. If i could re-take this photo i would try and focus more on the lizards head rather than the tail end to show more of his facial features.

In this photo i really like that fact you can see the friendship between the girl and boy in this photo and how natural it is, also that they’re both reaching for the same thing but the viewer is left wondering what it is. I think this photo works well because of the slight depth of field that has been created in the background to make the girl and boy in focus to show there friendship. I also like how the lighting is highlighting there faces which draws the eye to them and then down there arms to lead to what they’re reaching for. I learnt from this experiment that a natural photo works better than a posed photo in some circumstances, if had to re-take this image theres hardly anything i would change.

I like this photo because you can see the connection between the 4 sisters and the mother, also because of how the shot was taken, and by taking the photo from a medium long shot it shows the womens body language and how relaxed they all are. I think this image works well because of the meaning behind it and that the image shows a story of a happy and loving family together. I learnt from thhis experiment that i need to give myself more timeto prepare and use more equipment as i only used a camera, but if i had a tripod and more lights with umbrellas then it would have been a better photo. If i had to retake this photo i would allow my self more time to set up.

I really like the contrast in this photo and the effect that i have put on top, and how the light starts from the left and fades into black towards the right. I also think its works well because of the black shaddows on top of the white paper, and how you still see the lines on the paper.
If i had to re-take this image i would use a proper camera and not my phone as the flash on it wasn’t as good as what i wanted it to be.

Day 3: Black & White

black and whiteSettings: N/A

This is an appealing photo because its a natural shot, it works well because of the lighting in the studio and the white backdrop behind the subject contrasts with the shaddow on her face.

There’s not alot i could change about this photo as its a natural shot so everything in it is to its place that it should be.
